CASA PEDRIÑÁN TALLER DE ARTE
Small art school in the Mediterranean countryside. Open to the general public. One afternoon per week drawing and painting workshops; summer intensive courses; and weekend activities: engraving, mosaic, pottery, stained glass, photography, etc. As all participants receive individual assistance, no previous knowledge or expertise is required.

We believe that learning to draw and paint is not so much a matter of natural talent as a question of keen interest and measured patience and a willingness to enjoy oneself. Talent undoubtedly helps to acquire certain skills but it is not essential and there certainly have been may great artists who were not skilled draughtsmen or indeed technically good painters. Our aim is to help everyone discover their unique creative capabilities.
Thursday weekly workshop
Small group of budding artists – all artists are budding – who meet every Thursday from 18:00 to 20:00. As far as project techniques and themes go, each participant decides his/her own and goes on to explore it for a year. Both realism – portrait, watercolour, figure or landscape – and abstraction are worked on using classic techniques such as pencil and sanguine drawing as well as acrylic and watercolour painting. The workshop is run by Anil Das Gupta González. 10 people maximum.
Weekend activities
Activities to spend the weekend differently – learning and having fun at the same time. Various workshops available – taught by experts in each of the following subjects: pottery, stained glass, engraving, mosaic, photography. Previous knowledge is not a requirement, but it is required that the participants want to learn and have fun. Normal duration of the workshops is 12 hrs, 10:00 to 13:00 and 15:00 to 18:00 – Saturdays and Sundays. 15 people per activity maximum.
Summer courses
Intensive courses in July and August: drawing, acrylic painting on canvas and watercolour painting on paper. Starting on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Monday of each month. Duration is 25 hours – 09:00 to 15:00, Monday to Friday. Timetable intended to be compatible with outdoor or cultural activities. The beach is less than an hour by car and there are several historical towns that are really worth a visit. 10 people maximum.
Accommodation
Casa Pedriñán has 4 self-contained flats each with its own living-cum-dining room, bathroom, kitchen and double or twin bedroom. The flat on the ground floor can be adapted for wheelchair users.
Rates – Euros
Weekly workshop on Thursdays: € 11 per week
Weekend activities: rates depending on activity
Summer courses: € 150, materials included
Accommodation: € 40 one person or € 45 two people sharing, per night
All rates include VAT.
